Black Beauty Bebe had been at the Long Beach Animal Shelter for over 3 months. She was left by her owner tied up in front of the shelter with a note saying she was bilingual (knows her commands in German) and that she had pannus in one eye, which is a very treatable eye condition.
The volunteers at the shelter were worried about her because she needed daily eye drops to keep her from potentially going blind and we knew she wasn’t getting that attention since the shelter is getting full and they are severely understaffed.
Thank goodness a Long Beach resident read an article about FURever in the Long Beach Post (see blog)! They contacted us and we quickly put them in touch with Woof Project Rescue. Yesterday, we walked Miss Bebe out of the noisy, crazy shelter and brought her to her new foster family!
Yay! Progress one dog at a time!!!
