Bramble is a young pup, only about 1 year old, who is currently at the Long Beach Shelter. Bramble is a German Shepherd/Chow mix, weighing in at about 65 lbs. He was found as a stray covered in giant burs stuck to his coat so upon his arrival at the shelter he was given a buzz cut. Thankfully this was while the weather was still warm so it's given him some time to grow his fur back for the fall season! Bramble LOVES to play ball so if you've got an arm and a ball, then you're his dream date. He's a foodie who will happily sit for treats.
Just like most of the dog-a-roos at the shelter, Bramble was never taught any manners by his previous owner(s) but he's young, smart as a whip and responds well to treats. In other words, if you're committed to him, he's a perfect specimen for training.
FURever has a rescue interested in sponsoring him (will pay for medical expenses and supplies) but a suitable foster must be found before we can get him out of his cold kennel and into to a comfy home. The ideal foster for Bramble would be one with experience with larger breeds, who can provide him a daily routine, including plenty of exercise, and who will commit to his training. For now he should be in a home with no small children and no other pets.
If interested in fostering Bramble, go to foster2furever.com, click on the "Save a Life" banner at the topic of the page, fill out our short questionnaire and you'll be contacted to answer any questions you may have about Bramble or fostering.
