Jericho

Jericho

Jericho is a medium-sized, 3-4 year-old Labrador Retriever mix currently at the Long Beach Shelter.  He has a beautiful reddish-brown coat and loves to run around and play in the shelter exercise yard.  This boy is a bit cross-eyed, which makes him very special indeed.  Jericho has a delightful personality, full of positive energy, always wagging his tail and enjoys meeting people.  He doesn't seem to care about other dogs and loves walking and sniffing around. Jericho is a little thick around the middle, but please don't judge.  He doesn't get out much and probably has a slow metabolism.  He would be so joyfully happy if you included him as a running or hiking buddy and he's sure to make you laugh when you see his playfulness.

Jericho was found as a stray but it's obvious his previous owner(s) didn't spend any time teaching him how to walk on leash, so he's a bit of a puller.  According to a very smart trainer that I know,  teaching a dog how to walk on leash is one of the less challenging behaviors that can be worked on and improved.  So how about it, wouldn't you love to have those star-crossed eyes gazing at you lovingly and happily at you everyday?  Set up an appointment to meet him and let your heart lead the way!
